Spain and Australia, are we that different?

Dear friends from Concepción Arenal:

In term 2 we have learnt about the differences and similarities between our community and the community of your school in Spain. We have learnt a lot of new vocabulary in Spanish and we have investigated the question, ‘Australia and Spain, are we that different?’ We would like to share our work with you.

Queridos amigos:

Durante nuestro segundo trimestre de español hemos visto algunas de las diferencias y similitudes entre Australia y España. Nos hemos concentrado en las cosas que tenemos alrededor de nuestro colegio y las hemos comparado con vuestro colegio.  Hemos investigado la pregunta  ‘¿somos tan diferentes?’  y hemos descubierto que a pesar de la distancia entre ambos países, tenemos muchas cosas similares.  Queremos mostraros algunos de los trabajos que hemos hecho.

Pelusín está en Australia :)

Last month children from Bethal Primary School sent letters, pictures, posters and a koala bear as a symbol of Australia, to our sister school in Spain. We are so excited as we have just received a package from Spain. The sister school sent maps and tourist information of Spain, students’ work and a teddy bear named Pelusín. In a letter they wrote, they explained that in the mountains around the sister school there are many brown bears so they decided to send a teddy as a symbol of their school. We really enjoyed reading their letters and the work they prepared for us.

A VISIT TO THE MARKET. UNA VISITA AL MERCADO.

THE YEAR 1 AND 2 PUPILS VISITED THE POTES MARKET TO BUY SOME FRUIT. WE BOUGHT APPLES, PEACHES, MELON, WATERMELON, CHERRIES, NECTARINES,... WE MADE DELICIOUS FRUIT KEBABS WITH ALL THE FRUIT AND WE COVERED THEM IN CHOCOLATE.

THEY WERE DELICIOUS!
