Hi friends from Concepción Arenal,
Last Thursday Bethal Primary School celebrated Harmony Day.
Harmony Day is a day
of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. It is a day to
celebrate that we all live peacefully being part of the same community.
In Harmony Day we all
dressed in orange. The children made kites throughout the week and we all
enjoyed flying the kites in the swirly wind. We had lots of fun!
After flying the kites, the whole school was entertained by
our wonderful school choir singing ‘Imagine’. All classes worked hard
throughout the week to prepare a presentation within their classes based on the
theme, “Many Stories-One Australia”. The highlight of the morning was when the
whole school community came together to sing ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me”.
It was wonderful a
wonderful day! Children, staff and parents had so much fun.

Hola amigos del colegio Concepción Arenal,
El pasado jueves Bethal Primary School celebró Harmony Day.
En Harmony Day celebramos el respeto entre las diferentes
culturas que existen en Australia. Es un día para festejar que todos formamos
parte de una gran comunidad que vive en paz, sin importar el color de piel o
religión.
Naranja es el color que representa Harmony Day así que el
jueves los niños y niñas de Bethal P.S se vistieron con ropa de color
naranja. Durante la semana, en la clase
de arte, los niños hicieron cometas y el jueves por la mañana todos volaron sus
cometas.¡Lo pasamos muy bien!
Después de volar las cometas, todo el colegio se reunió en
el salón de actos y cada clase presentó una actuación/ trabajo diferente, todos
ellos relacionados con el tema “ Muchas
historias- Una Australia”. Antes de comenzar las actuaciones, el coro del
colegio cantó ‘Imagine’ y la celebración
terminó con la canción de Toy Story “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”.
Padres, profesores y alumnos lo pasamos genial.
